Ai Persona core drawbacks?
I am making my main crafter into a crafting cyborg giving her the top of the line everything and I was wondering if the AI persona cores drawbacks are worth all of the benifits?

Drawbacks? There is primarily only one use for this, namely as a component for building the spaceship.
Installing it into a living colonist isn't the correct application, nor advisable.

Check the comments for EPOE, as what you are talking about, installing a AI Core into a colonist, is not a base game mechanic. Last I heard it was the worst possible thing you could do with that mod and a great way to waste a colonist and a valuable item.

If it's from EPOE, installing it will give your colonist mental breaks from "AI taking over" on a regular basis.
The core is supposed to be used on potato colonists (ie. permanent brain injury with 2 hp left)

Would lucferium not be a better option to fix a brain on the 2HP As long as its not missing it will regrow it right?
never messed with any of these my self.

Yeah but when you run out of luciferium the consequences are far worse than a mental break here and there

Unless you have the cryosleep pods, but then it's like one of your colonists died (what I mean is you have on pair of hands less, because that colonist is asleep) , just not permanently but until you get a stock of luciferium again.

Luciferium is almost as bad. Healer mech serums is what you want to cure brain damage. The AI Persona Core implant was added to EPOE a long time ago, before better options existed and the mod hasn't really been rebalanced since.

RBSE AI persona core, if I'm remembering right, there aren't mental breaks? But the colonist becomes completely unable to communicate. Think it drops hearing to 0 speech to 0, something like that. I'd have to check again, honestly. The very first map I played I had a colonist with a redcon permanent brain inujry that had her still walking and moving but only at 10% speed, so I had installed RBSE for it's neurosurgery AI implant. ... in the end I didn't use it cause I over-anthromorphize things too much, and the thought that she couldn't talk to her friends anymore (and vice versa) was the thing that stopped me. Then again, I'm a RL bleeding heart for pawns.

EPOE AI core seems to be horrific. RBSE I don't remember it having any other drawbacks save the person sort of turning into a skillbot butI'd have to check - that was also in A16, or beta at some point.

(and of course, RBSE and EPOE are non-compatable as they are two different extended surgery mods editing the same whatevers.)

I *think* the mod "more faction interaction" adds a "healing hand shaman" event that might pop up every 2 years or so (on average. Could be more often). If you can get a bulletbrain to the shaman, they are healed 100% of the injury. Since I started having those events I just don't worry too much about it and put people in cryptosleep or whatever till the event pops up.
