Since i play the game in my own language (german) i dont know how to cure malaria due to the bad translated tutorial.

What i did when a colonist got infected with malarai:
Let them stay in bed over the whole time
Always got best possible treatment (17/20 skill)
Always got medicine
Always got food
21°C degree whole time.
clean metal floor

but still dies. I cant figure out how this works and what to do.

Does he have missing kidneys? Blood filtration is important.

Is he very old? Old people have a slower immunity gain.

He should develop immunity in 3 days according to wiki.

When you treat the diseased colonist. a percentage will pop up over the patients head. noting the effectivness of treatment. the doctors skill, the rooms cleanliness, the patients current health . the bed all play a role in imunity gain.

Click on pawn, then the I button for information.
It will tell you how high the immunity gain speed is.
The worse that number is, the higher percentage you need when tending.
If you are using herbal medicine, it might not be enough.
Also don't forget to tend as soon as the previous tendingwears off.

Basically Malaria reduces blood filtration and thus makes it harder to treat them than other diseases.
But a good doctor, a good bed and medicine usually should be enough to save anyone affected.

With malaria, if you treat it immediately and repeat the treatments promptly...
With a normal person, herbal medicine, you need a doctor of about 4 skill to expect survival.
With modern medicine or glittertech, a levell 0 doctor will suffice.
With NO medicine, you will need about a level 12 doctor.

Malaria is a nasty disease, second only to Plague in killing.

These all assume treatment in a clean-ish room, resting on a normal bed.
If the patient is lying on the ground, outdoors.... add about 8 to the needed doctor's skills above.

Dont treat them when it say Colonist need treatment. Its late. There is a small time between "Can be treated" and "Need treatment". Be sure your doctor treat when "Can be... ".

Sorry to hear about the malaria. It is a deadly disease if unprepared.

Hovering over the malaria affliction in the colonists health tab will give you some particularly useful info. The malaria will have a percentage and when it reaches 100% that is death. Towards the bottom is an immunity percentage and if that reaches 100% than an immunity is developed and they will survive.
Your goal is to get the immunity to reach 100% before the malaria gets to 100% and kills them.

Best chance for success (that I know):

Bed Rest all the time.
They can not be allowed to leave their bed. If they do the malaria keeps ticking up to 100 and
the immunity is slowed. Set "Bed Rest" to "1". Keep them in bed even for raids, if possible.

The best hospital bed you have.
Higher quality bed will improve their immunity gain. Look at the info screen for the bed and
you can see the statistics of a good bed versus a bad one.

Prompt treatment with Herbals.
Keep an eye on when treatment expires and wake the doctor up if you have to.

Good doctor skill.
I think this affects the treatment quality and thus the immunity gain.

Vitals Monitor.
It will increase the bed's immunity gain rate.

By the time you have a skilled doctor, actual hospital beds, a vitals monitor and industrial tech meds, malaria is no more dangerous than the flu. It means your pawn is out of action for a bit more than one day, then fine.

Without real meds, hospital stuff, etc.... yes, even flu can kill.

And YES, did not mention it but that's because it is so obvious. Treat the patient *immediately*, and thereafter as soon as you can. NEVER allow the current treatment to expire before applying new treatment.
