Will animals mate with their offspring?

As the title suggests, will animals mate with their offspring? For instance, if I have a male and female muffalo, and they have a male offspring, will the male offspring be capable of mating with its mother if I were to cull the father? I know out of context this likely seems like a very strange topic, but the reason I ask is because I was wondering if I could theoritically simply mate a female muffalo with its offspring, cull the father for food, and repeat the cycle.

You can keep score in the animal's social tab too. Se how many related points you can get.

On an unrelated side note, is there a mod out there which lets you rename pets? Or playable pawns? It seems like such a strange thing not to be in the base game.
