No. Not planned for this game.

There is no z level.
In other words, Rimworld is flat and fixed to one plane of existence (pun intended).
Critters may burrow up from below, but your colonists are stuck with a ground floor only.

Would you really want an upstairs if a fire started in a wood colony?

Hells ya!

Even if your pawns were upstairs and the fire started on the stairs down? Or a mortar blast or tantrum destroyed the means down?

A mortar would most likely go thru the floor and light the building on fire from below, bwahahaha

think of it this way, if colonies had multi floors, flooding could be in the game. That floods the first floor.

Making river bases much less safe.

Jump Down, or out a window, or down one of those fireman pole things

He's probably copy project zomboid and doing that breaks a leg or causes death.

Breaks a leg from one z level . 2 or more is ggs for that character.

Also would make for the 0% super mental break "the leap of despair" (pun intended).

Il leave you with imagining what that entails.

Ironically, this argument against z levels is the one to convince me we should have them. Anything to get a more difficult game!

I've been discussing this with a few friends and would like it if you could redirect water and rivers to flood portions of the map or dam it off for mods like dubs bad hygiene or no water no life where there is water plumbing

You really acted like more content and interesting gameplay is somehow a BAD thing.
