But I thought she was non violent
Started a new colony, two weeks later caputred an enemy from a transport pod, another week goes by and capture another. Then the next night another crash....I just randomly pick my pawn to go out and capture. Right as she gets there crash victim stands up. Awkward pause, then "punch" sound and next thing, she has the skull thought balloon! He's dead, all she did was punch him in the arm!!! But wait....she's supposed to be non-violent LOLOL

I have never seen a pacifist actually attack in any capacity. Wonder if there is a bug or mod conflict. Are you 100% sure he was hit, or did he possibly die from bleeding out? Im legitimately curious =p

I think pacifists can't even be ordered to "capture", only "rescue".

In vanilla they can capture downed enemies and I had a non violent colonist once who went into a rage and killed a prisoner. No mods installed

Mental breaks aside non-violent pawns shouldn't ever throw a punch, even in self defense or a social fight. They will just stand there and take the hits, or run away. My guess is the enemy recovered from the pain and stood up, attacked your colonist, then was downed again from blood loss. Enemy pawns have a good chance of dying instantly when downed for any reason, and in this case the game decided to kill him. You can check the log to see if this is what happened or not, select your character and click the log button next to their gear button, if it happened a while ago you might have to uncheck "show social" to just see the combat stuff.

I went back and checked the log....it says "used her right fist to smash Key, wounding his right arm and right radius. Next entry "Key perished" I haven't used any mods for a long time, definitely since I have been playing 1.0...so maybe a glitch.

I play with nonviolent pawns a lot. They shouldn't and most of the time it works, but I've seen this too. Something in the capture routines or whatever doesn't seem to respect the nonviolent skilldisable, but only occasionally.

In social fights and while drafted and so forth, as far as I can tell it always works properly - nonviolent means they'll never attack, and just passively get hit.

I used to capture non-violent prisoners and use the prison labor mod to have a free worker who won't fight back when they inevitably try to break out of jail. Well, the whole non-violent thing went out the window. They broke out and started to fight with my warden. They didn't do much damage since their melee skill was below zero but they did take some swings at my guys rather than trying to sneak out like I thought they would have.

incapable of violence can still attack during beserk break (Funny the dev left that in but recently took away them manning mortars huh?)
