Flake- value 14 - Work 3 - takes 4 leaves
Yayo- value 23 - Work 7 - takes 8 leaves

1 leaf is worth 2.4

Leaf worth for both:
Flake : 9.6
Yayo : 19.2

Flake is the most cost efficient to make, resulting in a higher profit per leaf. Also you can make 2 flake per 8 leafs and 1 yayo per 8 leafs, so flake is the clear winner here

This is purely from a raw value and time spent perspective.

Yayo is lighter in weight. If you are in the habit of settling close to other factions with a road connecting, Yayo is the winner.

They both weigh 0.05 (50 grams) so that's the only redeeming factor.

1 droppod carry weight total would hold 150,000 grams (150KG) which means 3000 of either.

3000 flake results in 42000 raw silver worth, 28800 raw plant worth (12000 plant leaves)
3000 yayo results in 69000 raw silver worth, 57600 raw plant worth (24000 plant leaves)

Keep in mind that you can make twice the amount of flake from the same amount of leaves as yayo.

Psychoid plants have a default real growth rate of 16.36 days, yielding 8 leaves per plant havested, not counting modifiers for harvest yield increases.

You would need to plant 375 plants to yield enough psychoid leaves to make 3000 batches of yayo.

Inversely you would only need to plant half as much for the same amount of flake.

If your goal is to mass produce and sell off product, you need to go with flake unless you intend to plant the largest normal portion of your entire map with psychoid leaves.

ITT: Large scale drug production logistics that would put the cartels to shame.

You seem to have done your research. I haven't actually crunched the numbers. The difference could be marginal depending on your setup. But thanks for the info!

Yeah this is with the logic in mind that you actually position an empty caravan on the trading settlement first, then droppod in the goods you want to sell to them :)

If you're going on foot, or very early game, then yayo is a much better alternative, but with the amount of work and growing required, there's more viable products to sell haha.

Well you have to imagine you have an infinite supply of either flake or yayo. What's easier to get rid of? Waiting on trade ships, or shipping to other factions.

Settlements only have 800-3000 silver, and a like 30 (15?) day refresh rate. If you bring extra product to trade for other resources you'll want a lot of extra carry weight anyway, meaning several pack animals.

Flake is for selling, yayo is for using. There is no argument for ever using flake in the game, it's purely a trade good. It's like cutting a drug with some cheap chemical to make it less effective but more harmful and addictive so you can sell more of it.

That's pretty much also the implied IRL equivalent.

Selling 100% pure = bad marketing lul

I really wish there was a way to force prisoners to take Flake so I can send them back to their factions with a serious tolerance and addiction problem. Or possibly give some to wild animals which will cause them to go on a rampage killing everything in the countryside.

They're under operations.
