On randy random, I got one trader in first year, and no traders since, several years on.
No Mods.
Yes, but some of us have played this game since very early alpha so when we say no traders, it is because it is abnormally so.
While I guess I never thought about that, Randy has, in the past, been, if not generous, at least, like, occasional for me. I have not had a single, dedicated trader this entire game. This seems strange.
Correct. I'm neutral with two (one is near friendly) and only hostile towards the base hostile tribe. I keep getting cargo pods, but nobody to unload this stuff off to! I'm gonna have to make a trip soon here before winter hits. but yeah, no dedicated traders have visited me and my very acecssable base!
I'm surprised we have yet to have a moodlet like "Went on a journey away from base +5".
I hope you're right! I'm building drop pods soon to send some gifts out. Hopefully that speeds things up.
I played on Randy for three years in my sea ice colony, and only had ONE orbital trader visit. Once I switched to Cassandra, I was getting an orbital trader 2-3 times a year.
It will not. As long as you have a single faction in the positives then you get caravans at the max rate. As Hykal mentioned trade caravans are an event much like a raid or supply drop, the frequency is controlled by the storyteller, when the storyteller decides you are getting a caravan it looks at all possible factions and picks one at random. If you have 1 neutral or better faction you always get caravans from that faction, if you have 4 neutral or better factions you have a 25% chance from each, the overall frequency of caravans does not change.
Every single person making these thread is playing Randy, it's absolutely normal for Randy to never send traders, because RNG. It has been like this for years, with dozens of threads like this popping up over time, there's more threads now because there are more people playing RimWorld than ever before.
