Venom Talon and Fang Implants

How do they work? Do they replace melee weapon equipped? Do they act as a melee weapon when engaged using a ranged weapon, so you're never quite borked and forced to use your ranged weapon for melee? Trying to figure out how this implant works....does it act as an additional attack? Is it a special activated attack like the Psi powers? How effective is poison?

For Venom Fangs it does stack with other melee weapons. I have a soldier with a Plasmasword and Venom Fangs installed. After killing a Thrumbo I checked the health tab and found that it had Toxic Build up, Burns and Cuts from the sword, and Cracks caused by the fangs.

I'm not sure about the Talon but I can safely safe that a melee focused solider would benefit from Fangs. Of course, weak enemies will die before it matters, but for bigger things it can help.
