Caravan showing no food on return trip
This is the second time this has happened during prisoner rescue trips. I brought four pawns, three muffalo, and enough food for 9.8 days (roughly 600 kibble, 500 hay, 400 corn, 40 survival meals, 20 simple meals, and two dead animals). When I arrived at the camp, I found even more food (simple food and more vegetables), but when I reformed the caravan, it says my caravan is now completely out of food.

I made sure when I reformed the caravan that I had everything selected to return along with adding the additional food and animals that was left on the ground during the siege.

Where is all my food going? The trip took a whole 1.7 days to reach the camp and presumably should take another 1.7 days to return home. That's only 3.4 days round-trip and even if it took me a whole day to break the prisoner out, 4.7 days is nowhere near the 9.8 estimate that the game gave me. I'm playing vanilla and I made sure my meal plan has my people excluding kibble and hay so they aren't eating the animal's food.

Either that or you have wargs with you, which only eat raw meat and corpses, which you no longer have and will cause the same effect of saying 0 days of food. The difference in movement speed is likely because your caravan is no longer hauling heavy corpses around with them.

Survival meals usually don't show up on my caravans so I've found it will tell me I'm out of food but they still have survival meals left. Check in your items to see if you have any left.

It could also be meal restrictions, if you have set any. The next question most people are going to ask is if you are running any mods, and if you are which ones.

Sorry I missed that part.

Do any of your colonists actually show starvation in their health tab?

I think in that screen shot you haven't actually reformed the caravan yet have you? Sorry looked at it on my cell and picture quality isn't that great when you don't use the imgur app.

The imgur app is garbage but I haven't reformed it yet. I did once and my people started to have breakdowns because they were hungry, so I reloaded a save prior to assaulting the camp.

Also, I'm not sure how my movement speed was 7 tiles per day coming up here, but now it's 23.8 tiles per day. It's like the game thinks I'm leaving my animals behind or something.

It was the new guy. I didn't change his meal plan and he almost died of starvation but everyone else was fine. I had to reload twice to get them back to my base without him dying.

That's a bit weird that one person's meal plan will say the entire caravan has no food. I'll make sure I change their meal plan on my next rescue mission. Thanks a lot.
