Deactivate smoke spewer?

Does anyone know how to deactivate the smoke spewer when it appears? I've arrived on the map where it is but I can't target it for attacks or interact with it in any way. Doesn't seem to matter if I'm drafted or not.

the hitbox of it is like, one square unit. I kept clicking on it until I found the part I could actually target and had some lads whack it for a bit. It seems like a bug or something

Sorry for the necro, but I was looking for an answer to this question and this is the only place I saw it asked. In the end I found that the only way for me to destroy it was to manually select Melee Attack (H) and then click on the Spewer. Trying to right click in or out of draft did nothing, even with melee pawns.
