Their DLC model is rather... exploitative imo. I say this cause every DLC comes with a free update that changes how base game mechanics works, but to get the full benefit of those changes, you need the DLC. But even if you don't own the DLC, the AI can use the full benefits, thus giving you a harder time.
Agree nothing wrong with paradox itself but getting a game after a lot of it's DLCs are already out is a problem. Take CK2 for example, always thought it was a good game just not gonna waste $305 to buy it's DLCs.
incorrect, tge ai doesnt get titans and you not when you dont have apocalypse. thats just false.
its not exploitative either, every 6 month or so they release a small or bigger update with a dlc. you get free Features and a dlc with some handpicked features behind a purchase.
the cheap charlies win because free content and anybody with a half decent job wins because even more stuff. you dont have to wait x years for a sequel.
i bought ck2 after 2-3 years of its release. i just picked some new dlc at every sale if i feltbthe neee. nobodies forced to nuy all at once.
I've seen fallen empire send titans at me before, I have Synthetic Dawn and Utopia DLCs so you know...
Flexing over a $150 bottle of scotch?
Not sure where you live, but that bottle is nowhere near $150. The point was (at least where I live,) drinking half of a bottle of Balvenie Double Wood 12 year is about the same cost as this DLC.
