Resurrector mech serum
Is availability only through a quest or specialist trader, ie a high tech ship? I've had a body in coffin in my freezer for a few years now and I'd like to make use of it.

I don't think Ive ever actually seen it as a normal trade item.
The about 6 rez serums Ive gotten (over about 50 games) were all from quest rewards.

It is ridiculously rare
(for me) it seems to be about 1/4 as common as healer mech serum.

If the body has been in the freezer for a few years, the person has very high chance to get resurrection psychosis. I made a similar mistake my first time using one. IIRC the psychosis chance is based on time since death. Freshness just determines whether it can be used at all.

That's not how I understood it either, but I dunno. Think I only had to store a body for a year or two before I got it once, but don't remember exactly, was a while ago.

I do seem to get them fairly frequently. Have 3 of them in my current game, in 5504. Didn't see a healer mech serum yet.

I got two from quests and one from the Ancient Danger room. Pretty sure you can't get them from traders, unless a mod adds that.

If the coffin OP is talking about is a cryosleep casket, then the "time since death" factor might not apply. I was thinking they were just in a regular stone sarcophagus.

The wiki says freezing them is enough by itself, with all resurrection ailments listed as "the initial chance is 2%, linearly increasing to 80% after 5 days of decay."

The info about freezing and cryosleep both "pausing" the decay timer for res serum purposes was added in May 2018. So that might have changed as of 1.0.

I don't use them very often myself, and I've never used cryosleep caskets, so that's not an article I've ever worked on. Anecdotally it seemed like a frozen corpse that had been dead for a few days was more likely to get psychosis, but I could have just had unlucky rolls.

Yes sorry, it is a stone sarcophagus. Then gain this being a story builder game having a psychosis once brought back from the dead would fit in nicely with the pawn I want back. I always use the "Prepare carefully"mod and create the 3 characters I want as my initial team from some old table top personas I used to play. I let the rest of my recruits just happen.

As it stands the Cult I'm creating has a lot of really old folks in it. Seems more like a care home than a colony. The Lovecraft storyteller can be quite brutal.

Hah! Well if it will enhance the plot it may be worth the risk to see what happens. I'm not too familiar with the mods you're using. Resurrection psychosis is fatal but it would definitely provide some Lovecraftian story fodder.

They're available only through Mission Rewards or Item Stash Missions, AFAIK. (ie: Mission-only item.)
