What to do with excess resources?
I have more rice and chemfuel than I know what to do with. I have 1800+ rice and I don't bother turning the rice into chemfuel because I have 1300+ chemfuel thanks to 11+ boomalopes, and as for power I have a geothermal generator and a vanometric power cell, so there's not much point of having more than 1 or 2 chemfuel generators. Is there any use for all this excess stuff apart from just selling it?

Put it where raiders may pick it up and carry it offscreen - or perhaps burn in a grassfire, etc...

Similarly, I am getting sick of tribal play and no way to get rid of weapons... would like to burn them like apparel.

Also, gift to factions/traders when you get the chance.

Some mods use chemfuel in their recipies... Here's one I use to repair my gear.

1) you can use the chemfuel to make mortars for extra defenses
2) if you have an overabundance of rice, I would suggest a couple things a) switch to corn, it has a higher yield for less work, b) because of a, you can reduce field size, c) because of a and b you can utilize your grower elsewhere

Hah, wow. I would usually consider 1800 rice to be dangerously low. I try to keep 4000 for a fairly small colony of ~6-8. Likewise 1300 chemfuel is barely anything and would only be enough fuel for a couple pod missions. If my rice (or whatever I'm growing) goes above 4000 I turn the rest into chemfuel, it sells better and has more uses. Without crazy modded power solutions I often have like 15-20 chemfuel generators going, but it still has other uses like explosives and pods.

It doesn't take that long as tribal to get smelting. Until then I just make a large outdoor stockpile and dump all the trash in there to deteriorate on it's own.

My plays currently cap tech at Medieval, so no smelting ever. But yeah, melt in the rain is a solution of last resort.

Gift to factions via transport pod.

Doesn't medieval times have it's own smelting?

I train up the cook's skills by making pemmican, survival meals, fine and lavish meals, kibble, etc

Lavish meals should make a decent drop in your food stocks.

The other thing you can do is to gift those items to different factions for positive rep gains.

And finally, if you are overflowing in food and silver, then just sell extras to the merchants (confirm yes when it asks you if you still want to sell that much to a merchant who can't cover the costs). You won't care if you don't get silver for it, because you are reducing stock and you don't need silver, and you don't need to trade it for something else that just keeps your wealth at the same levels except not in terms of having excess food.
