I value all of my colonists. Even when Vector lit up the wooden fuel store room, I still healed him up.
Actually, hats seem pretty nice now that I think about it.
what i do is remove eyes, ears, a leg and a hand. they become solid haulers.
Some traits only exist to dilute the pool of potential colonists, so you put some thought into every one and take the time and effort to find and recruit the best. Sometimes one bad trait is worth it for two amazing traits, but only in moderation because if everyone in your colony has one annoying trait to deal with it becomes a headache. One pawn with jealous, industrious, and very neurotic, totally worth it and you can deal with that one pawn with jealous. Stacking a bunch with jealous? I don't know, I'd never do that.
It really isn't a big deal. As long as all of their other needs are catered for, your pawns can handle a small debuff.
put them all in the same **exquisite** barracks.
Sure, the bigger issue is they don't have a better trait in that slot. Many of the negative traits aren't "that bad" if you look at them on their own, but a colonist with 2 good traits and a bad trait is substantially worse than a colonist with 3 good traits. The difference between a -8 mood debuff and a +12 mood buff is pretty huge and makes things like psychic drones or unavoidable relative death much easier to deal with.
That's pretty much a wash. The difference between a high end barrack and a room is 4 mood, and there's disturbed sleep which stacks to -3, so it's -8 for not having the best room or -7 for having the best barrack and getting disturbed. It's probably the best option for dealing with them though, especially if you can space their beds in a way that they don't wake each other up all the time.

Real talk, sometimes your colonists will be happy that you literally kill off another colonist. I had a colony of 3 that had everyone who joined hate them and be instant rivals, so we'd kill them and get a mood boost.

That is it, exactly.
if no colonist passed within about 3 tiles, there is no disturbed sleep.
Build as if you are making rooms, with walls-n-all, but omit the doors.
This way the whole room is one barracks, and shares impressiveness, etc.
Yes, you get the barracks vs. private room thought, but a suitably opulent barrack makes up for that.(almost) By opulent I mean stuff like put one giant statue masterpiece in there. 1200 beauty does a LOT to make a barracks acceptable!
Of course, all of your people need to be barracked, to keep the jealous happy. If even one guy has a private room, all the jealous go ballistic no matter how good their barracks is..
For this reason, I tend to convert them into Spare parts, Hats and Kibble, usually. Same as for pyromaniacs.
Hats? Thats slang I suppose?
Do you mean sell them as slaves, turn them into spare body parts or expandable cannon fodder? Or all these things?

Human leather is quite a high sale value.
