colonist hates weapons but equiping it
i have a colonist who hates weapons, but if i say "haul" weapons to bring it to the storage room this guy is equiping it. is there a way to avoid it? tried everything but nothing worked for me...

Nope. Your colonists are much more practical than you are, and they understand "survival". :)

"Yeah, I may be anti-gun, but if an elephant tries to bulldoze the front door of our base, I'm going to shoot the mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥!"

yeah but if he equip a weapons he got on the mood -25 or something lol

"Shoot the elephant now and hate myself later" will keep him alive. :steamhappy:

Anyhoo, you might try having him "equip" a piece of wood as a weapon. The game might not give him the mood debuff for carrying a pine log. Then he won't equip any guns that he hauls around. (well, maybe--the code might not be programmed to have him trade in the log for a real weapon)

In vanilla, pawns do not equip weapons without explicit orders to do so. This can be rather frustrating when I forget to re-arm my colonists after they're downed and they go out to fight the next raid sans guns.

Do you have any pawn behavior mods, like Simple Sidearms?

Everything about the issue is mod related. Unmodded, colonists don't autoequip weapons, and there's no "hates weapons" trait (other than brawler, but they like melee weapons). To be blunt, don't jump into modding without figuring out the base game mechanics, and when you do install mods make sure you are aware of what they are changing so you can avoid conflicts like this or know how to stop them.

Yeah right, i have the "sidearms" mod that must be the reason.

Then you have a mod confliction because pawns won't auto-equip weapons still without a direct command. I use Simple Sidearms on every playthrough I do and not a single time do they equip weapons I don't tell them to. If, for some reason, it isn't a confliction then check the mod settings in your settings menu and see what configurations you have set for it.

If nothing else, having them pick up or equip as many weapons as their carry weight will allow, drafting them, moving them to your stockpile, then going into their gear tab and dropping all of it is an efficient way of hauling may single-haul items at once.
