Unable to continue Researching

I have researched up to "Multi-analyzer" and now I am unable to go on further. I used a device that reseaches instantly, can't remember what it is called. It said you have researched "Multi-analyzer" and then I was unable to progress further. Is this a bug or is there a way to fix it?

need to build the multi-analyzer and connect it to the research bench to research anything in the tree past "multi-analyzer"

To clarify: the Multi-Analyzer is a device under the Misc tab, not Production. It requires 100 Steel, 50 Plasteel, 20 gold and some components. You place it near a High-Tech Research Bench (there will be a little connector when you're placing the blueprint near a Research Bench) and as long as it is connected and powered, you gain a +10% research speed boost from that research bench and are able to research the most advanced technologies.

If a research requires a multi analyzer, then it can only be researched at a high tech reserach bench which is connected to a multi analyzer. At this point you should get rid of any simple research benches as they are now all useless(unless you still have early tech missing), and make sure that all your high tech benches have a multi analyzer connection. If a bench isn't connected to an analyzer, it can't be used to research things that require one. It's not just about building the analyzer, it's about properly connecting it as well. Also it cannot connect to a simple research bench, only the hi tech bench.
