Report a translation problem
You can wash them as many times as you like, but they will always have the stygma of someone dying in them.
Just cut them up for their materials:

Just like in RW not all items get this stygma, just clothes do.
The difference is that your granddad died wearing it, not died in it.
Otherwise with needing to fully strip raiders for an armor piece or two, after awhile i suspected it would start to look like a very bloody rapture took place with all the clothing that would still be laying around on the ground.
Be sure to uncheck tainted in stockpiles so hauling animals aren't sneaking that crap into your stockpile rooms
