if you un check the x on any animals that die on the map (not hunted), anyone set to hauling will do it eventually.. depending on their order of orders.

Also with the mod "Allow Tool" you can mark them as "Haul urgently", which, you guessed it, makes them a higher haul priority (if properly set up in the work tab).

yeah i the press "X" on them, but that requires me scouring the map for dead animals to butcher, i want to know if there is a way, as soon as they die, my guys will just go get them without me having to click each animal individually

Not realistically without mods. If you set the entire map to your home zone that might do it, but that would create a lot of other problems.

I think colony manager has an option for it, or I think I remember being told it does, but I don't know I've never used it.

I *think* if you set every animal in the wildlife tab to "hunt" but dont have any hunters, they will auto-mark for hauling when they die. This is just a theory, I have not tested it. I've never really had the need to scrounge up carrion.

by keeping the map clear of food you can draw all wildlife to a pile of kibble...

The only workaround I know of, is to zoom out really far, and double click on corpses so you can press X in one go.

Just make sure the corpse are unforbid. (on main menu, mouse to unforbid. RIGHT-click, unforbid all)
Then pick a worker, and with him selected right-click on your butcher table, prioritize butchering. Butcher table resource range on infinite, of course.
That pawn will chop up fresh animal corpses , closest to furthest, until either he runs out of corpses on the map or he faints from exhaustion.

Of course this still requires a drop of manual intervention. Automating the process is a bit harder, as the job/skillset overlaps with cooking.

You can fully automate the fetch-butcher part by setting one of your pawns to priority 1 for cooking, but DENYING him access to any cooking tool(campfire or a stove). As soon as an accessible corpse appears, he will fetch and butcher. But you will still have to manually un-forbid any corpse killed by anything other than deliberate hunting.

ORDERS -> Allow -> right-click on allow & Allow All.

As more stuff dies you'll have to repeat that; but it's very useful after raids, or at the very start of a game.

I tend to set up a walled-off no-ceiling area for human corpses, and another area for rotten animal corpses.
Once I have a haul animal I'll set my non-psycho humans to not walk into the human-corpses dump pile, to avoid mood debuffs.

Any update on this? I'm sure this mod would be used by a lot

I use ZITools(object seeker) mod and just search for corpses and unforbid them periodically if I need meat and I know some animals might have been killed by predators.

i have given up hopes of it, however the new "Wildlife" tab is brilliant, i just send out my army of robots to hunt monkeys, boars etc in large quanities so i get all the meat i need

colony manager is the mod you need/want.
it has very powerful tools:
autohunting, autopickup dead corpses, auto slaughtering & butchering wildstock.
powermanagment with automatic power switches and alot more.

one of the best addons. it replaces tedious micromanagment in large colonies.

you need to build a manager desk and give your pawns managment job to do the auto tasks.
