Thanks, my base is already up to standard, I have a few marble royal beds already and I place all marble furniture in nice big rooms. Won't the wooden bed in such a case actually be better since all the other furniture is marble?
Optimization of productivity demands the beds be wooden and that made up for with other furniture or art, but optimization of space could indicate something else. I would just go with your asthetic choice if you base is really good. 10% better sleep is actually quite a bit of time, really. I probably would go with wood, lol, but I wouldn't second guess anyone's choice to go with marble. Either is fine. What do you think?
But Rest effectiveness also scales with quality, up to +25% for a non-stone legendary bed while a stone legendary bed is +12%. I would say that the rest difference is worth more than the small beauty gain, especially since you can eventually make a Silver or Gold bed which offers much more beauty without sacrificing rest speed.
I constantly get attacked at night (think it's the way the games made?) so max rest really does help me a LOT.

In seriousness, I don't think there's any particular pattern to when you get raided. It's probably just more noticable because you have to get everyone up for nighttime raids.
hehe, yeah, I guess you might be right, will try pay more attention, thanks :)
It sucks to forefeit 10-15 % in rest, but at least comfort is unaffected. More importantly, if wood is scarce and stone plentifull (it will be if digging into a mountain) then stone is preferable. Steel allways seems to be in short supply, and it will catch fire.
I think gold or stone are the best options. Steel could be a good option in the early game when that rest penalty will hurt more.
