Has anyone ever used monkeys as an attack animal?
I'm thinking of breeding some just because I have never done it before. Boars are no longer the super pet that they were in previous patches so I started a new colony with 2 monkeys. I don't think it would be such a bad option. They are small targets, they can be trained to attack, they are almost as fast as base naked human speed, they deal blunt damage to aid in capturing enemies and they are omnivorous. I just don't know their breed and maturity rates and if they birth one monkey per pregnancy or if they do batches.

No. Can't say I have. The animals I usually bothered with were muffalos, camels, bears, and any decent predator.

Monkeys have a gestation period of 16 days and produce one offspring per birth, which is quite slow. You should also be aware that contrary to canines they cannot haul and inflict low damage. They also yield very little leather (7). On the plus side, they yield 32 monkey meat and they give nuzzles relatively often (compared to most other animals). I enjoy having a pet monkey inside the base as an alternative to a cat or two, but I would look elsewhere if your goal is efficiency. *cough*elephants*cough*
