How do I get the people to eat from the dispenser is there a specific way to set it up?

Gotta set up a hopper next to the dispencer, make sure that hopper is filled up with food, and dispencer needs electricity as well.

Yep, as Aurora said, make sure the hopper is next to it, keep it fed with the foodstuff and make sure it's connected to a power source

Your pawns will use it automatically

Make sure the nutrient dispenser is more accessible to ur pawns than the food in the hopper or the food in your stores. Also when they grab a meal from the dispenser it is instantaneous and can easily be missed. They dont "work" the bench per se with a progress bar.

Wait, you need a hoper to make it work now? I made most of my 19 plays with simple and fine meals.

You don't need to cook meals for the nutripaste dispenser. Just add the raw meat or vegetable into the hopper and the machine will do the rest.
