Report a translation problem
I put beds and animal food in barn.
Declare a zone called "PetBeds" for this.
When I need to gather the animals(for care, safety, raids, etc), I just put them in the PetBeds zone.
This does not directly address your problem though.
Your duck most likely went to the freezer to steal some food, and froze before it could exit. This *should* not be a problem for the larger furred creatures, as their cold tolerance and mobility are much greater.
Freezerburn is one of the occupational hazard of using animal haulers and cold freezers.
As of now, the zones I use for pets are:
"Not the freezer" for haulers, which is the entire map allowed, omitting the freezer meals are kept in (because animals eating meals got old fast) and the area beer is kept in, because ducks throwing up all over the floor also got old fast. They're allowed specifically into the area of the freezer, that berries, grain, and medicine they're hauling go into. And, of course, their hay they never eat.
"Don't be food" for non haulers, which is the same indoors as "Not the freezer" yet they don't have outdoor access. As they don't haul, I see no reason to let them into freezers at all, now that I have feed bins in their barns.
Thank you for your answer M. K.
