Wildwoman?
Uh one of my colonists apparently has a wife who has just wandered into my colony, except she is a wildwoman and my options are to either hunt her, or tame her? Wtf? I dont particularily like the colonist in question so i might hunt her for the funnys. but for future reference how do i go about taming wild people?

same as any wild animal. And just like any preditor, if she gets hungry and cant find food she'll try to eat a colonist.

Click tame, any pawn with 6 or higher in animals will attempt to tame them and if successful they will join your people as a colonist. If you don't have a good enough handler you can wait for the wild pawn to collapse from hypothermia or heatstroke depending on your season and biome then capture them and recruit as usual.

In those situations I tame the person, then banish them. -3 mood for a couple days is better than -10* or so for a month because buddy's wife died.

You can also arrest them I think and then recruit them

You can. Wild people can even have "incapable of violence" trait so an arrest is simple as can be.

Just be careful with those supposedly "incapable of violence" wildmen/women. They can still hunt colonists/small animals when there's nothing else on the map (at least they could in Beta 19: haven't done an Extreme Desert since then.)

Do they ever learn to eat meals again after you tame/recruit them? One of mine now only eats corpses (and only if you manually select them)/ Wondering if it's a bug or intentional.

If you tame it that should become a regular human pawn.

If you get a regular human pawn unhappy enough that can turn into a wild person even.

Ah, must be a bug, then. At least she's eating raw meat on her own now (thanks to the console).

"Wanders in" is a random event, yeah. "Run wild" is a severe mental break type where one of your colonists turns into one. So weird to see them on the Wildlife tab lol

Wildlings are just characters that you can recruit through taming instead of crash pods or rescues. They are just like any other characters. Tame if you can. Arrest/attack then imprison if you can't. Leave them alone if you can't be bothered. They will go to your meals if there is access if you wanna lure them into safe temperature or making sure they don't wander off.

someone searches for something on google and finds a steam discussion, doesn't realise its months or even years old and makes a post. this posts it on the front page of the steam discussions for that game and so other people are likely to comment as well. normally i check these things to avoid continuing the necro but this time i forgot
"idiot wanders in" is a random event, yeah. "turned idiot" is a sever mental break type where someone one the internet turns into one. So weird to see them being dumb lol
