Stripping Corpse
Is there a way to auto strip corpses before tossing into the funeral pyre (aka creamatorium) It's getting quite annoying to micromanage my dead zone for processing before burning up raiders....

I ask this because of the reclaiming fabrics mod... I remember you USED to auto strip corpses before burning now they just toss the whole thing in.... LIVE GRENADES AND ALL.........

That's something for the mod maker to deal with.. The most annoying thing was having your whole base covered in worthless items every time you burned dead raiders after a battle.
Also, grenades are weapons and they drop on the floor. They don't stay on the body so youd never end up cremating those by mistake, you'd have to set an order to do that.

The point is BASE GAME now auto tosses bodies in...... I would like the BASE GAME to give us the option to burn with apparel or strip before burning.... (and trust me I remember old games... ive been playing this game since before it was on steam!)

There's a "strip" order, which you can use to designate corpses for stripping.

...... no sh*% AIP ........ again "Is there a way to auto strip corpses before tossing into the funeral pyre"

Maybe ask the maker of the reclaiming fabrics mod? There's zero reason to have that in the base game.

Well.. no. You know there isn't. Base game players don't need or want it. Talk to the mod maker. I'm sure he can fix that with little effort.
He could add a tick box menu to corpses where you can choose what to strip when burning.. Probably most would like to see that to be fair. I'll take a dead man's power armor for sure.

You saying that you would take a dead mans power armor is more on my base side request...... you do see this right? Id rather have the chance to see all of the tainted apparal spread in my stockpiles even if i am selling it for pennies... than to have to micromanage burning.... (which mind you was in the base game to start)

So go bother the mod maker.

Let me rephrase this for those that can't grasp the concept.... IT USED TO BE PART OF THE GAME... IT SHOULD BE AN OPTION AS BASE GAME.......

You can't sell tainted equipment anymore.

The only reason you might want tainted stuff is if its really good equipment and dont mind the mood loss. This means auto destruction on cremating is totally fine in the base game.

You'll want to address the mod maker here.

for me when i cremate corpse it still drops all of its gear on the floor.. and yes im playing 1.0.

honestly a better system for removing, burning trash without running the risk of a valueble item getting trashed due to low durability or quality (a poor minigun is still a minigun, while a normal/good tribe hat is still kind of useless)

mod would be nice for it :) no one linked one so will go look ^^

pretty sure that didn't happen for me last playthrough, but i surely most be wrong if it is in hte code (personally i want pawns to "take to storage->strip->take stripped to storage" :)

Bills to destroy items already give you full control of which items at which qualities and durabilities you want to destroy. Remember you can make multiple bills, so you can have one bill that destroys everything below normal of certain items, and another bill that destroys everything below masterwork of another item.

As far as the issue the OP had a year ago when this thread was made, butchering is what you want to have setup for salvaging all the resources you can from corpses. Butchering strips the corpse and provides you with leather and meat at a slight mood penalty (you just need one colonist with 1 of like 5 different traits that counters the larger mood hit). Cremate is for quick disposal with no returns or penalty.

I believe the Vegetable Garden mod pack adds a 'turn into fertilizer' option for the crematorium. This makes them auto strip corpses before chucking them in, but you might not want to add another mod pack.

Or maybe this:

Edit: just realized its a necro, but the mod might still help someone else

It did used to be part of the game. But, now, selling Tainted clothing is no longer part of the game and pawns don't want/won't wear Tainted clothing.... so, "Stripping" as an auto-behavior just causes a mess as there isn't much you can easily do with those clothes anymore.

You can manually order it.

A mod might be able to alter that behavior.

There isn't as much a use for stripped, tainted, clothing in the base game as there used to be.
