Strangest/Most interesting love stories in your colony?
This may very well not be the place to post something that doesn't help the general public but I found my situation very funny and figured that there would be others who had similar occurences.

I have not been playing for a long time but recently started up a colony, finally got things running decently, and one day received a message saying:

"A crazed woman has appeared"

As if that was not bad enough, she was also completely naked and the winter was approaching. Immediately after receiving the notification I sent a colonist to attempt to "tame" her but she failed to do so and apparently did not want to try again although I never cancelled the command (I'm sure it may have had something to do with priorities but let's ignore that).

A few days went by and the crazed woman, Rissa, was still wandering around completely butt naked. For whatever reason, she walked into my colony base through the kitchen/eating area and into the freezer where it was sub 0 degrees. She refused help still and ended up with hypothermia and frostbite on 2 toes and 1 finger. Finally after she fell unconscious from the hypothermia, one of my colonist was able to rescue her and bring her to a bed. Rissa finally recovered after a few days and, more importantly, found a good set of clothes.

Literally within less than 2 days Rissa walked up to another colonist, Phil, and I received a notification to this effect:

"Rissa tried to romance Phil by telling him her age (49 if you're wondering). He fell in love with her."

They then demanded that I make them their own room with a double bed and a few days later were making plans for a wedding.

I definitely did not see that coming.

Haha Rissa isn't messing around! She's also totally using Phil and I hope he's got friends enough that can help heal his heart when this is all over and she's through with him. God, what a ♥♥♥♥♥, right??

I had two colonists hook up: Kay (who's "beautiful") hitched it with Gramps. And they didn't last but a season or two until she dumped him and starts hanging around this other guy, whatsisname.
It didn't take long at all until Kay and Whatsisname hooked up...and Gramps didn't take it very well. It never came to blows, but he flat-out hated that bastard, Whatsisname. It was hard to blame him, she'd moved on like it all meant nothing, you know??

And I was all of a week into the game, having no idea that something like this could happen and completely fascinated by the little drama playing out in front of me here.

Gramps eventually got over it and went on to become one of the most valued members of that colony. Just kidding, he went ballistic, shot up the place and ended up eating her corpse when all was said and done. No just kidding, but that'd have been awesome lol

I'm still paying B18 and in all the hours I've played I really can't remember anything strange or interesting that's happened relationship-wise until my current playthrough...

Ben and Dotty became lovers, got married, then divorced, became lovers again, got engaged again but broke up before the marriage ceremony, and have just recently become lovers again.

This is Omega. He's been making his way around the colony through a series of affairs in between marriages. I'd try to punish him somehow but he is always the one that gets divorced after cheating and he can handle the debuff fine. And since he's constantly sleeping with people he provides a set of mood buffs I can't really give them.

I had a wild woman also fall in love and get married really damn fast. I guess they're quite desired?

For a fun love story though, I had a guy called Parker lose his wife and many others in a raid. It took him a few months to recover (read: not be locked in jail 'cuz he kept killing stuff), and after a year or so after building everything back up from scratch, he hooked up and married a great woman.

Now Parker is a man who knows all about loss and tragedy. He's lost his former wife, his father, his best friend who saved him from death and countless other friends, some of whom are alive but kidnapped. He's had the second most miserable experience out of all pawns I ever had. Now however, he is surrounded by new friends and great comforts in a safer environment.

So within a week he cheats on his wife with the most useless wimp in the entire colony.

One playthrough I decided to have a family only colony. So I hit random until my 3 colonists were a mother, a sister, and a brother. Then I had them share a room.

I was curious to see just how far vanilla rimworld went really breaking moral boundries. And turns out back then not only did it apply to humans, it even applied to the animals too.

Which was pretty annoying tbh, I had to keep buying new male animals. And it was total rng if a caravan would even have the right animal, for instance cows (Each generation I had to buy a new male). I also had timber wolves and after the dad had puppies he got shot up and was a mess after, couldn't even walk, each time he tried he needed to be rescued. But I tried keeping him around because the bonded pet debuff was so bad then. All I could really use him for was breeding, I think, he might not have even been able to do that.

Idk, pre 1.0 I tried to keep animals and keep em as if they were important like colonists. Now soon as toxic fallout hits or food is low its time to say good bye. Or I kill them as soon as they get an illness or right when I get them.

Personally I'd find it pretty funny if the animals could fall in love with different species. Like a cat and a squrrel fall in love. Or a cow and a muffaloo (And get a hybrid in this case)

Outside of that I can't think of anything else odd. My pawns just would marry pre 1.0 .Later the girl divorces the guy and the debuff results in the guy dying via mental breaks or something. The divorce debuff was horrible and lasted really long. The other pawn though wouid be walking on sunshine. It was so bad to this day I hate with a passion pawns having a romance because divorce wasn't an "if" it was a "when".

Maybe haha, perhaps crazed people are just like that on this game sometimes.
Just take off the last bit and it would be a great movie ;D

"Detre compared Mausi to a dazzling swamp. She has been wooed and they are now lovers."
Me: Are.... are you sure about that Mausi?
------
My first lover story was when an injured pawn called up and begged for rescue several tiles out. She was the wife of one of my pawns. This being the first person I'd ever tried rescuing, on my first map, I was worried so I hiked out there. Managed to save her, drag her back to civilization. Built my first couple's bed for them......
She divorced him a month later and hooked up with someone else.

As long as my colonist were happy eating whatever hybrid popped up, I'm game lol. Hmm, I haven't actually had a lot of marriages (I typically start over too early- still trying to get down the best way to start). I wonder what factors into the success or failure of any particular marriage.

Lol Warlord, I dunno that's pretty much romancing 101 as far as rimworld is concerned :P. Apparently the divorce rate is quite high in this game! Well, that and the mortality rate.

Happens fairly often when a random spouse spawns. I've had a psychopath get a random spouse once. Didn't last long, unsurprisingly.

And yeah, the dialogues can be amazing.
"Trev flirted by joking about cooking gourds. Glasses became aroused and became Trev's lover"

A master seducer right there.
Rio Oct 30, 2018 @ 7:21pm
Mine usually seduce by talking about body hair.
