final update?
I bought the game while there was still in the beta 18 and it updated to beta 19 is the dev said there was gonna be a limit or something or is it until he runs out of ideas or something.

There will still be at least a 1.0 at some point.

The next update should be 1.0. 1.0 was supposed to be the next update after beta 18 but the dev decided to hold off so that he could get some more done before full release.

Depends entirely on Tynan's current OCD level. Perfectionism is a dangerous thing.

Shep, I suspect Bombyu's comment is a joke (although possibly correct in the end!). Listen to Celiria.

I've been playing B18, and plan to finish my saved games there before updating.

What do people think of the current version 0.19? I've heard feedback that there were a lot of changes, primarily nerfing things to make the game more challenging. I've had a hard time finding threads with any details. Does anyone here have any thoughts, info, or links?

I certainly don't want to impose my opinion, but I love the fact that the dev is taking their time with the game and not rushing the release. In today's industry that's a quality that speaks lots about them (the dev) and the product that we'll get/are getting, in a good way. In other words, we'll get even a better product. Also expect future balance and tweaks (although I haven't heard or read anything about that; that's pure speculation.) I love this game and I want what's best for it.

Here's a quote from the dev, directly answering your question.

I'm hoping to keep further changes to technical fixes and optimizations from here to 1.0. I'm not against some design changes but nothing structural or destabilizing. That's the hope.

well i see the dev is doing making the game into something very good and the community is helping with awesome mods too. are you bored of the human race? add 20 more races to the game and 50 more weapons and a lot more. I think the dev should focus on making the game go faster in loading mod too i would like that very much.

Not everything is mentioned, sadly. From my experience, I found out that many buildings, sowing trees, electricity, etc. were now behind research. I love it that way because it adds more progression and also makes the "neolithic" (I forgot what it was called exactly) era feel more real, if that makes sense. Previoulsy you jumped directly at mid-to-high tech.

There's definitely more.

That sounds pretty good. I'll check out the link you posted. I know there's always a more detailed change log for RimWorld updates, but I may just have to suffice with missing some of them. I appreciate your help. I have a brain injury, and searching for information is difficult for me.

No worries. With games like these, detailed release notes about the changes and fixes is mandatory in a way. However, it's easier to start from scratch and assume you're learning it anew.

Anyways, the link is forum thread about the release where people have mentioned a few things but it's not an extensive resource either. Just something to have in mind.
