Manually Move a Chunk
Is it possible to manually move something? I want to move a reasource to a specific location and then forbid it. Unforunatly, I can't get a drafted colonist to haul anything.

You make a dump or storage area that the Chunk can be placed in, then select a pawn and tell it to haul the chunk. You can automate it by putting their haul priority highest and marking the chucnks you wish to haul.

The main thing is if you set up a storage they will fill it automatically when they aren't doing anything else. As long as hauling is on, which mean they also have to be capable of hauling.

Set up a storage area and forbid everything but whatever you want to put in there. Then change its priority to critical. Then either force a pawn to prioritize it or wait until a pawn who is currently working on hauling things to move it themselves.

I assume its probably drugs you want to stash away. If you want to destroy them you want to research an electric crematorium, IIRC that allows you to destroy drugs as well.

Medicine is a drug right? So I guess you are right. I have a surplus and don't mind my colonists using most. But I want to save a chunk of 35 that is only to be used on my command, The only way to do this right now is to set everyone's medical care to "best care" and then change when I hit the theshould, but I don't want to constantlly check the threshold, so I'd rather have a fordibben chunk that they won't touch.

But there might be a time in the future when I want one specific thing in a specifc spot, so I generalized the question.

also... you can't make drafted colonists haul

That was specifically my point. Since drafted colonists can't haul, I was wondering how to get a specific chunk to a specific spot.

Pause the game.
Set up a high priority stockpile.
Prioritize someone to move the desired chunk.
Un-pause.

Go to "architect" -> "orders" -> select "Haul things"

drag a box around the things (chunks) you want hauled

after they're marked to be hauled you can select any pawn (as long as they can perform the haul job), right click on the chunk and prioritize haul that item

This is only for chunks and metal chunks, all other items you can prioritize haul without marking them to be hauled through the architect tab.

So does this apply to stuff like medicine, meat, and drugs? Those are chunks right?

No, medicine, meat, etc, aren't "chunks" in this sense. Haidunia is talking about rock chunks, metal chunks, etc.

I usually use the word 'stack' to refer to a stack of some useful item, since, well, they stack.

Ok, so how to I get a stack to be hauled to one specific location 9rather than the general stockpile)? Without disallowing other types of the same item to be hauled to the general stockpile.

You can only haul things to stockpiles.
So do what BlackSmokeDMax said:
Pause the game, make a 1 square stockpile, tell it that it can only hold the kind of thing you want (so it doesn't try to put something else there, so medicine for this case), set it high priority, select a (non-drafted!) colonist, right-click on the stack of medicine, "prioritize hauling medicine", then unpause.

You can't specify a quantity. You may very well end up with more than you wanted (colonists may try to fill the target square) and there's nothing to be done about that.

The game isn't quite meant for the level of fine-grained control you're asking for; you're supposed to manage things on a larger scale.

Eh, I think a degree of micromanagement abiltiy would be nice. Maybe if I get the DLC to insert myswlf as a pawn I should set myself to neurotic?
