RimWorld

Oh my god merciless mode is REALLY hard.
Just hit 300k wealth, few days later merciless randy sends a DIVIDED raid of mechs. I request help from a settlement when mechs broke through my turrets. Fortunately they kept destroying things outside like lamps etc. rather than breaking through walls. We deal with them. I get lots of components from them and no losses, only power armor destroyed to 45% from 99% and some bruises on my guys with power armor. Then when everyone recovered I get another mech raid, this time it's only from one side. When I look at it I see a TON OF SCYTHERS. I haven't even fully rebuilt my turrets. I ask for help again, and when scythers come to my base they just destroy the outside and then proceed to destroy my doors. Luckily I have moved everyone to a bunker with plasteel walls and some packaged food inside, so scythers only went inside and destroyed every furniture, workshop and my barrels with beer. My ally gets almost completely chopped up by those scythers and I almost lost one guy with a chain shotgun. He only had a flak vest. He lost a leg and an arm. Easy to replace. There was one guy that was full bionic with legendary power armor and a charge rifle. I decided to kite those scythers by using him. Worked pretty good, because scythers were heavily damaged and because of that slowed down. I won, with no deaths, but tons of equipment buildings destroyed.

Ah I almost forgot. My chain shotgun guy was playing peekabo between my armory and a room that contained stuff like comms console against a centipede the first raid. The centipede shot an inferno cannon and it exploded my 107 shells (I play with OgreStacks or whatever it is called). My colonist survived only because he was standing in the doorway! He didn't take any damage from the explosion, and my firefoam popper triggered due to the explosion. Almost everything was destroyed, or broken down to 10-20 % inside the armory.

Thanks to merciless mode I switched back one level down.

sad to hear ai is still trash
why would scythers hate furniture instead of kill the humans that are their mortal enemies
is half of every tribal raid still bashing at random outer walls until they fall over from exhaustion?

They bashed those walls because I hid my non-fighters inside a small mountain bunker and the main fighters were on the other side of my colony. I probably should've mentioned I'm using the embrasures mod so they can't pass through it.

You got the lore completely wrong.

Furniture IS the mortal enemy of the mechanoids. There's just some pesky humans in the way at times.
