That animal pulsar item is 10/10
Raiding enemy base, stand in one of the corners, activate, watch a huge mass of elephants and ibex run them off the map... 10/10 who ever thought of that item

Funny enough, I've never used one.

Well they'll attack you too though, even if they kill the enemies first they'll turn on you afterwards. So I find it to be usually not all that worth it.

I suppose you could just leave the map after the enemy base is destroyed but then you won't get any of the spoils you could have from their base, and if you brought pack animals to carry your food on the journey there then they're going to go berserk too.

I've never used one either. Could you build a little shack on the edge of the map, put you and your animals inside, then use the device? Does the device wear off after a little while?
Vladislak Aug 15, 2018 @ 5:30pm
I tried that. You can sort of do it, but it's a real hassle. Obviously you need to have your shack seperate your colonists from your animals so they don't attack you, but when I tried it my own animals attacked one another.

I had two muffalos, built them a quick shack and one for myself and then activated the artifact and the muffalos started attacking one another (maybe they still recognize each other as being part of your colony and thus a target?). So unless that was a fluke it seems you need to make seperate rooms for each of your animals, and then yeah eventually it wears off.

Really if you're going to use it you're better off just not bringing animals and then walling yourself in quickly when you arrive at your destination. I just find it's not worth the trouble as then you have to wait for the animals to finally calm down afterwards.

Probably best used when your own base is getting raided. I don't really keep any animals until I MUST and they're easily replaced anyways.

They did but I had 7 people stacked with charge rifles so they barely got scratched :') however the 10+ man base with turrets and mortar is dead

I guess I never used one because I think animals are great. A guy with high animals skill can be far more dangerous than 3 guys with good aim.. Not to mention all the wool, milk and meat you can get beween fights.. Plus chemfuel from boomalopes.

3 guys with good aim and good snipers rape ur animal guy. but yes, animals can be useful, theyjust eat too much in my opinion to actually produce anything rather than only be good for the looks and style

No, they dont. Only a cousin ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥ would have them fight on an open field^
You wait till they get close, till they bunch up near a door, then release them all close range.. a warg or two, a cougar, timbewolf.. lets see what your "snipers" are going to do.

Animals are worth it for caravans IMO. Having the extra storage for food and medicine is a must for long journeys.

No, they dont. Only a cousin ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥ like you would have them fight on an open field^

so your implying that the snipers are stupid. lets reverse it: snipers dont get near you but wait in cover and distance for your enimals to run at them and sniping them all dead.

you see its pointless to argue with you

In what situation is that ever going to happen? As far as I know, there's no multiplayer in rimworld. You can always coax and/or stay out of sight till you are close to the enemy.

I find it weird we can make power armour but can't make backpacks tbh

Animals are useless for fighting. They're good forhauling ♥♥♥♥, nothing else. Hell even fully cybered up with mods they still die far to easily.

I had a pretty good setup a while ago, involving about a dozen trained attack squirrels. But they were all bonded to the same colonist, and after five of them died in one raid, he suffered a catastrophic emotional meltdown.
