You can also activate it for other colonists, so that, for example, they care for their own wounds (if they are capable to do it) before they bleed to death
In fact I have a similar situation in my cuirrent colony ... first year (meaning, still the first 3 colonists) and the only doctor has caught sleeping sickness ... with self tend she gets up once every 1.5 days in order to renew her medication
Assign worker types (Assign Tab)
Set priorities for work categories (Work Tab)
Set times of day for Work, Anything, Recreation, Sleep (Restrictions Tab)
Set all pawns with any medical ability to Self Tend (Profile/Health Tab)
I task each pawn to arm themselves with the best weapon for their capabilities (Profile/Bio Tab)
Then and only then do I UNPAUSE and start playing ;)
