Went from wood flooring to sterile tile in my kitchen - boom, food poisonings out the yang
As soon as I replaced it someone got sick..."dirty conditions", it said. So I kept watching it, making sure it stayed clean...it happened again a few minutes later...and just now again. Three food poisonings in 15 minutes here and the only thing that's changed is the flooring.
I'm using the fridge mod, Rimfridge...and moved the fridges out and back in again, does dirt spawn under them, maybe?

Regardless, food poisoning is really getting on my nerves...it seems to happen way too much, but it makes no sense why its happening more with a sterile floor...

I have one per week and I produce food from a dirty kitchen (lot of blood, dirt on a stone ground). Seems a bug...

Cooking level matters also for food poisoning.
Are you sure you have nothing else in the room, not just near the stove but in the entire room?

The level of whoever is cooking matters (bad cooks will get you poisoned)

Room the stoves are in matters, not just the floor (if the room has anything else but stoves/cooks/floor/llight you could be getting contamination

is the room getting cleaned regularly by your pawns? Sterile floor is nice, but if your not cleaning it then it still gets dirty. :)

No sterile floors but I make my cook keep the kitchen clean. I to was have the food poisoning issue. Vanilla game. I searched the kitchen for dirt or thrash and it was clean. Finally found the issue. My pawns had a social fight in the freezer and there was blood in the doorway. Cleaned it up and no problems. Look really close especially doorways and the freezer.I am unsure if blood/dirt in the freezer effects it but make sure it is clean as well.

and this is why I stockpile the raw mats and only cook meals till I have a small stockpile (aka 2 days cooked ) Limits the problem, along with setting a minimum level on the cooking of the meals (anyone can butcher in the next room)

And butcher tables are always unclean so they contaminate the room by default

Yeah, same here, small bills (daily meal production). I get the feeling the op made a massive amount of meals under filthy conditions and is paying the price.

A question comes to mind ... Does stacking "good meals" with "poison meals" contaminate the "good meals"? I would like to say NO, but there have been times when I feel like the answer is YES, but idk .... :/

EDIT : ... In other words, does the poison chance "average" the poison chance for that stack? ... I'll go back and say NO, but then again ..... :/

Well when you put 1 meal made from human into pile of 9 made of non-human the whole stack is considered to be made (partly) out of human, ya?
I'd imagine same rules apply here.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same as well. I think the "poison tag" (hidden tag) is created when the chance happens, so the meal is contaminated, and then that contamination "stacks" with the good meals.

Another example ... A fertile egg "ruined by temperature" is lying in the stockpile. Any "non-ruined" fertile eggs that get stacked with the ruined egg gets the "ruined by temp" tag ... :/

Helpful replies, thanks a lot guys (man this community is great). I forgot to mention my cook being at lvl 14, so its probably not that, but it never occurred to me that I might have had a contamination 'phase' waiting to be uncovered in my stockpile.
I bet that's what it was, I generally stay 40 meals ahead of my nine person crew...think I'm going to cut that back some regardless, its a little much!
