Dumb Question #3 today: How do I tell the caravan to come back to base?

OK so the caravan went on a rescue mission. It was a slam-dunk. We saved the hostage. However, they're just sitting there and not coming back. They are idling, "waiting." When I right-click on the caravan, it says "reform caravan" which I did (and it let me choose the people, items, etc...). But there's no (obvious) indication of how to tell them to come back. Why is everything in this game so esoteric?

Click on your caravan and then right click on your base location. It should say "Enter (Colony Community name here)", click on that.

Once the caravan reforms, right click your colony site and it will say enter/visit/atk “insert name”. Congratulations you just made your first caravan trip. Now keep doing it to trade for endgame materials.
