How do you leave the main map and go to another area (caravan?)
Got a request to recue someone from a prison camp, which seemed do-able. It jumped to a world map to show me where it was... and... that's it. It doesn't have any buttons or indication of what I need to press or what I'm supposed to do. Clicking on the prison camp in the world map only brings up environmental information, distance, etc... but nothing on getting my colonist to journey to that location. I'm completely baffled by this.

Go to your colony site in the world map and chose form caravan. Select whatever pawns/ animals, food, medicine, bedrolls, materials you need. Then hit choose route to get an estimation of how many days worth of food to reach there. Then hit accept and the colony will start packing for it.

Click on world map then find your base location and click on it. Should look something like this:

Then, click on Form caravan. Choose the people/animals you wish to send then click on items tab. Choose the items you wish you bring along. I suggest medicine and bedrolls for everyone.

Then click on Choose Route at the bottom right hand corner, you'll see a red marker on your base such as this:

Right click on your destination and it will connect the two markers like:

This will also give you an estimated travel time in days. Click on Choose Route at the bottom. Brings you back to the form caravan screen. Now pack enough food to supply your caravan for double the stated travel time.

You can get an estimation of food needed by repeatedly putting red markers toward the target place and then back to an adjacent tile of your colony.

Note the amt doesn’t take into consideration the time takes to do the objective you have at that tile space.

An example is if your mining a resource off an area and it takes several days. That won’t be shown in the tab.
