Tips for Permanent Eclipse?

I used the Senario Editor to create a random scenario and one of the things I got is a permanent eclipse. I'm still kind of new to this game but what I know is:

• I can't rely on wood for resources until I am able to make a sunlamp with a reliable source of energy.
  
• I cannot make solar panels or even wood/chemfuel burners due to trees not growing.
  
  So any tips?

Windmills and lots of batteries
Toggle everything off that you aren’t currently using, only thing you use power for is a freezer to keep meat.

yeh, windmills can give stupid amounts of power but very unreliable.

trade for wood, and use placeholder comfort objects in the meanwhile. if you're also in an environment with hostile climate, prioritise using wood on your outer doors for opening/closing time. otherwise on the rooms that see most daily pawn use.

You can use geothermal generator if the map has any steam geysers. And research ground-penetrating scanner and deep drill so you can deep drill for chemfuel so you can use chemfuel powered generators.

You can still use chemfel generators if you can tame some boomalopes. They can be milked for chemfuel.

Thought then chem fuel would be best used sparingly =p maybe in burstes for raids or something.

A single boomalope can keep a two chemfuel generator running indefinitely. The only downside is they're a bit of a pain to care for. Gotta keep them safe or their deaths cause a giant explosion during a raid.
