What kind of food doesn't spoil in 3 days on world map?
I have pemmican, which supposedly doesn't spoil for a whole year. And yet when I send my team out, it says that I only have 3 days before all my food spoils. What kind of food should I be brining on these away missions?

pemmican.
The meals in their inventories will spoil in 3 days, pemmican lasts a few quadrums at least.

Pemmican or survival meals. Or raw vegetables/grain.

See image[ibb.co] for proof that I'm ALREADY using pemmican, as I stated in the original post.

Check the colonists that you've decided to send on the caravan: do any of them have a Simple/Fine/Lavish Meal in his or her inventory? That notification is misleading: what it means is that some portion of your food will spoil after the indicated time. The system bascially looks at all the food being packed into the caravan, identifies which one will spoil first, and tells you that's how many days it'll take to rot.

Even if you didn't send Simple/Fine/Lavish meals with your colonists intentionally, if you put a pawn into the caravan who was carrying a Simple/Fine/Lavish Meal in his/her inventory, the game counts that as part of the caravan's food supply.

also if they are carrying raw ingredients (e.g. berries) for animal taming I think that it counted as food (it used to anyway)

The next two are your answer.

Yes, you have pemmican. It's counting the first to spoil, which will either be your meals or your raw food. After those are gone, it'll count the pemmican instead. Otherwise it would be telling you that you have a years worth of food worth of non-spolable food when you really don't. And raw food still spoils on convoys.
