Can you scout enemy bases?

So I want to have some fun and wipe out some bases near me. Only problem with this is I don' t know what I am up against, sometimes its 2 guys, sometimes its 13 and mortars and turrets. Is there anyway I can send a scouting party to see the base and then leave?

No. You could send a scout, then send more people in drop pods while the scout is waiting there at the map edge. If you leave the map though it's gone forever and a new one is generated randomly when you go back.

Everything is right as @Astasia said.

Send a few scouts to map edge, using their recon - charge railguns at your base and start shooting ... in same time launch drop pods with your heavy infantry (but timing them so they will arive AFTER shots, not BEFORE)... I love mods ^_^
