Best way to get bionic parts?
Currently on my best run in a permadeath colony in vanilla. Sadly my colonists are getting beat up at this point and I'm in the need of several eyes and legs. How much do they typically cost and how the heck do I get traders to bring them to me?

Real answer:

For me, about 2-3K silver for bionic arms and legs, prosthetics are cheaper, but I don't remember by how much, and exotic goods traders carry them. They don't always carry bionics, and in a 4-year colony I haven't seen a single eye. However, those exotic goods dudes are the only type of merchant I know of that carries them, and only outlanders and trade ships carry them, so tribes aren't worth calling. I'd probably just call a trader using the comms console if you have the silver.
if you don't mind mods theres one where you can disassemble downed mechs for eyes, blades, arms, and legs. Also EPOE or the other one by Ra

if youre going for a bionic crafting mod and want an experience more grounded to vanilla check out rahs bionics and surgery. highly recommend.

EPOE- streamline, for general public- maybe too many parts.
RBSE- more hardcore, balanced- less parts but more refined.
Glitter tech- 2.0 parts(afaik)

You can try sending out trade caravans to neighbouring settlements as well. Settlements have a wider selection of goods than if you request a caravan.

As for leggs, remember a peglegg still gives 70% moving speed so if your colonist is handicapped more you are better with installing that untill you get your hand on a bionic replacement, specially if the wounded legg also gives a high pain penalty

Eyes is a problem in vanilla, for some reason. In my 4 game years I couldn't see a single eye to buy. I saw one guy with implant when I opened ancient danger, but he killed himself aginst a fist of my colonist during arrest.
Can't you just harvest prisoners eyes?

In vanilla you can't harvest "prosthetic" replacements. I.e. hands, legs, eyes, brains.

I think the "Harvest Everything" mod allows you to harvest body parts.

you can get em from exotic goods traders usually along with other glitterworld stuff in vanilla.

there are some fairly balanced mods that allow you to make them however, gating creation behind expensive material, and research.

can you sell everything to neighboring settlements or do they have the same restrictions as caravans that visit you?

Way more than usual, but not everything. Non-tribal settlements usualy don't buy anything tribal related (weapons and gear), and vice versa.
