Similarly, don't send Drop Pod to go and trade without an interpreter. Drop pods on their own seem to think the right price for everything is "gift"
1) The items asked for.
2) An actual pawn to finalize the exchange.
You tried to fulfill the quest without requirement #2. It's still technically a caravan quest, and caravans don't exist without a colonist. The "Fulfill Trade Request" button won't even highlight for you if you don't have a colonist there with the goods. It's perfectly fine to use a transport pod to send the pawn and the goods, but you can't send the goods all by themselves (like, you can't even do it and immediately send the pawn after in a separate pod). Also, the pawn *WILL* have to hoof it back the long way, so make sure they have provisions for the journey home.

And yes, you can fit enough stuff in one drop-pod to build another one, PLUS the person to do the building.
You cant build when visiting a colony, you would need to attack it to be able to zoom in. So you can, but at the cost of some goodwill.

The way to use drop pods is to send a single colonist to that village, drop pod clubs to caravan and then fulfil mission, but be careful: that single colonist needs to have enough capacity to bring rewards back so some horses (+faster travel!) or pack animals help.
