How do I put a dead colonist in a cryptosleep casket?
As per the title, how can I make someone haul the corpse inside? Waiting for resurrect serum and want to keep the body in there durin the wait.

Why not just freeze it? It's already dead, and freezers stop decomposition.

Seems a bit crude!

Well, I mean he's already dead, what does he care? Just make sure your remaining colonists don't butcher him, I guess?

Why? Burying them in a grave or a sarcophagus will preserve the body.
A cryptosleep casket is meant to keep the living alive, not preserve a corpse.

There's a resurrector serum that can bring the dead back to life, but the corpse has to stay in good condition, the more it decays the higher chance of them having permanent negative effects after resurrecting, and if it decays too much they can't resurrect at all. Burying on putting it in a sarcophagus won't preserve the body, it will decay into a skeleton which can't be resurrected.

But it is called a cryptosleep casket, not cryosleep, so whatever futuretech it's supposed to use probably requires the occupant to have a functioning body. I'd just make a dedicated freezer for preserving the corpse.

This intrigued me and so out of curiosity I went grave digging ;)
The results were interesting...
First I opened an 11 year old grave and I was wrong. The corpse had indeed deteriorated to nothing but a skeleton.

However, I then opened a 2 year old sarcophagus and the corpse while dessicated, was still reasonably intact.

I buried them again with all due respect of course, but it was in the interest of science ;)

You didn't try using a resurrector serum on them? So much for science!

Hell no! Why would I dishonour their memory by bringing anyone back from the dead?
They lived their story and that's that. You can keep that serum, I'll never use it.

Pfft. One of my colonies postponed ship launch for 7 years just to ressurrect its founder.

You're a ghoul ;p
What was the name of the ship? The Event Horizon? ;)
It feels kind of weird to keep the body of our dead friend in the freezer where we keep our meat, but now that I think about it, that actually seems like exactly the kind of ♥♥♥♥ that you'd find on the rim in Firefly, so it actually is probably appropriate
There is a mod "storage solutions" or that like.
It has a storgage for corpses to keep them fresh
