I found a wendigo but can't figure out why or how

in one my seeds last night, I found a wendigo. Googled it, didn't see any other examples. I just went through my mods, and couldnt seem to pinpoint where it may have came from...

Is it a mod im missing in my list? Is it vanilla? It said under its description that people dont believe it exists or something to that effect. Was I already asleep? halp

How do you remove it? I have one in my region who decided to hunt humans. :/ I'd rather not have it in the game.

Update: Figured out how to remove it, go to (...)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\1389086625\Defs\ThingDefs_Races and select Races_Animal_Westerado , scroll down to the bottom and delete everything starting at "Wendigo" it'll be at the bottom of the list EXCLUDING "</Defs>".

That will remove Wendigos from your game.

Edit: You will likely have to start a new game, but I'm not 100% sure.
