Thrumbo?
I'm trying to tame a Thrumbo and read that their fur is valuable. Once tamed, does their fur grow and are harvestable every season or so like some other animals?

You must kill it for its fur. Which is why i usually tame a male and female, and kill their offspring.

Ah so it's not like the alpacas then. Ah well. Thanks for the info.

there are mods that add thrumbo wool but in the vanilla game it is best to just kill them and not tame them. They are really hard to tame and eat a massive amount of food. Even though they are really strong in combat there are other animals that are easier to obtain and can do the job. Besides it takes 25 yrs for a baby thrumbo to reach maturity.

Yeah, I'm going to give up on that idea. Don't need em.

I played a scenario once that had me as a thrumbo farmer. 10+ thrumbos for pets right off the bat. Of course, being that it was a brand new colony trying things out in cave biome, there wasn't enough food and they all died.

However, I'm sure if you played in some grassy/tree biome, they could be fed for a while until you get your food chain up and running, and then you'd have lots of thrumbo babies to eat and harvest.

Started with one as a pet once. He tanked and slaughtered multiple early raids, then his owner died. Thrumbos can mentally break and slaughter early colonies incredibly easy just as a safety announcement.
