Growing crops in winter
How do i grow plants without hydrponics and in the sea ice?

You can't.
You would need arable land to build a greenhouse on, making surrounding walls and building heaters to melt the snow, but the entire ground on Sea Ice is... well, Ice.

Why would you even be playing on sea ice if you don't already understand these basic concepts?

I mean, you can do it, but it'll take over a in-game year in setup.

Use a moisture pump (I think that's what it's called) and dry up the lakes. Then build & heat a building & use sun lamps to grow food on the gravel.

I just gave that a try, and moisture pumps turn the water into ice on Sea Ice maps.

Ah, sorry. I guess that’s new in B18, I know it worked back in A17.

(I haven’t done a sea ice colony yet in B18, if that wasn’t clear, so I never learned it changed.).
