Trading with transport pods?

A distant city gave me a trade request i want to complete and they will give me a reward. If i send their requested items on the transport pod without a colonist will it be counted as a completed trade deal and will they give me the reward? or do i have to send transport pods with colonists?

You have to send a colonist.
