So at this time I guess he's holding up to that promise.

By the authority vested in me, as a duly appointed officer of the Galactic Empire, executive to Lord Vader and a loyal servant of the recently-deceased Emperor Palpatine, I confer upon Phrosti the title of Patron Saint Of Full-Price Gaming.
Press S to render a salute to Patron Phrosti.
(you know, I kept telling the construction engineers they needed something better than safety rails in the Emperor's throne room, and by the way, who the hell decided to put his throne room exactly on top of a ventilation shaft leading directly into the main reactor core??? it was just an accident waiting to happen, but did anybody listen to me!?!? NOOOOOOO.)
The game is on permanent sale. Its original value is around 60$. So buying it for 30$, is an 50% discount.
It shall henceforth be known and "African-American Friday".
And Yes, Rimworld will be on sale. Starting in the year 2743.2, but only in the Rigel system.
also, it's not likely this game will go on sale
(This game's developer famously/notoriously does not do steam sales)
Technically it is the devs right to do this, but the only message this sends is that the dev feels either they or their work are too good for the common consumer. Thats going to bar many from entry, and offend many more who otherwise could afford full price. From a business standpoint on getting return for the work invested, this seems counterproductive. I see other threads saying those waiting for a sale must somehow feel entitled, but it seems to me its the dev thats showing that attitude.
"Artificially" increasing the playerbase? What does that even mean? And what meaning could it possibly have in a single player game? The concept makes no sense outside of looking down on a second class player who may have paid less than you did.
