You wont "find" any adv comps. Deconstuct ship parts (Not the common chunks, but the toxic / psy ones), trading, and later crafting.
Yu mentioned you always running out of basic comps. Spare. Dont waste them, until you have your fabrication bench.
And when you start a new colony: Buy 5 adv comps asap (iirc fabr bench needs 5), so later you will have the required amount.
15 colonists, nobody is able to craft them, training the skill already takes ages, and seems like they'll need another few irl hours to reach the skill level. Bad luck with this save.
Prepping for mid - late game .... Yep. This need some experience.
Next time assign (at least 1 of) your crafters to make knives, parkas, hats, etc anything to raise his crafting skill high enugh to make adv comps. (Just like training a drug maker ehhhmm... pharmacist -> intellectual + crafting).
Make lots of survival packages.
When you have a decent amount go with a good pawn trader and some lifestock with all your fur and leather.
Why fur and leather? Because allmost every base buys it.
Go on a trade adventure and visit every base. Only sell the things you wanted to sell and only buy the advanced components. Buy food when needed.
Have you opened up your Ancient Danger? I believe there's also a chance Advanced Components are inside as loot.
It might also be worth it to clear out any world quests that you can: IIRC, each faction can only give you one World Quest at a time, so if you kill off a Bandit Camp in exchange for some silver, that frees up a quest slot. I've gotten up to 11 Advance Components from Item Stash/Bandit Camp quests before.
The 2 advanced components and 20 gold are gateways to continue progression that will sneak up on you if you aren't expecting them. Follow above advice about crashed mech ships, ancient danger, trade ships and world quests with adv. component rewards.
And 50 plasteel aswell
I don't have trouble finding them for trade in orbital beacon tho, specially bulks and exotic trader
I've had that happen to me in other playthroughs. It's definitely frustrating. The only thing that ever came to my rescue was an Exotic Goods Trader. As others have suggested, and if you get truly desperate, you might get lucky with one the advanced faction caravans or even traveling to one on the map. (IIRC, I did that once pre-1.0 and was successful.)
If it truly gets exasperating and threatens to end a playthrough you'd rather see finished, use the devconsole and spawn in two advanced components so you can then construct the workbench, at least.
No RNG mechanic is worth losing a beloved playthrough to if you have the option to counter it and don't mind using that, IMO.
