Prisoner food management
Prisoners are being delivered food that they’re being restricted from eating. Is there a way to manage what is delivered to them so the slop they can actually eat is delivered rather than all our fine meals?

Only wardens will deliver food to healthy prisoners. Doctors will deliver food to injured or sick prisoners. Both will take whatever they would eat instead of prisoner meals. The only way around this in vanilla is to micromanage your work tab, removing everyone from both of these work types until you need them. If you are trying to run a fairly large scale prison operation, you may try adding a few mods to avoid frustrations like this.

Fluffy's Work Tab breaks out all of the subcategories for each work type so you can assign priorities for every little thing if you choose. With that mod installed, you can just turn off delivering meals for wardens and doctors altogether.

Why have your pawns hand-deliver each meal? What a waste of time!!

Just set a single square meal stockpile in the prisoner room, with appropriate mealtype restrictions. Let your haulers haul there as/when needed.

This only usea *hauler* time, rather than warden or doctor time which is much more valuable.
Also, the meals will tend to get hauled in stacks or partial stacks, instead of one. meal. at. a. time.

If you're not mod averse, I would definitely recommend it. It allows for a ton of nice ways to manage your pawns in addition to directly solving the issue you are having.

MK, in a prison themed game, its a common problem that wardens will deliver meals to pawns, and the OP was asking if there's a way to make them stop doing that and just eat the crappy food he leaves out for them.

Yeah, set a 1x1 stockpile of whatever food source you want them to eat and just have that transfer over by haulers. You can set that stockpile to a higher priority if you store the stuff elsewhere. Only one stack fits, so that’s all that will be put there.

I had the same issue, fluffy's mod fixed it for me. Just remember to apply proper priorities to new pawns.

Edit: I do a prisoner compound that has a np dispenser with unlocked cells (locks mod). Prisoners take care of them self's.
