turning them into hats and dog meat is very rimworld, though.
@OP: set your self-tamed animals to an allowed movement zone that excludes your base. That way they won't get into your food supply (for some reason, the husky in my game kept trying to eat the chocolate stash). Dogs, wolves, and other types, when left to their own devices, will hunt to survive. Or, they will snack on the corpses of dead raiders if any are lying around.........
And there are always many lying around...
My hauler pets / psychopath pawns can't rest much, but hauling the corpses into the barn freezer. Raiders, bugs, unlucky traders / visitors. There are sooooo many corpses.
X person asking for help
Me: MORE FOOD AND HATS FINALLY
Also me: What kind of monster kills pups
^--- This.
Yorkies are the "comic relief" of Rimworld. They're basically useless unless you sell them, turn them into hats, or opt to Release them all for a short laugh. :)
I always find it difficult to Slaughter dogs in Rimworld. In a current playthrough, I'm starting to accrue too many puppies (new births) and haven't had a trader that will accept animal trades in a long time...
They are small and therefore hard to hit, also the event gives you 10 of them...So 10 targets...plus they dont actually eat a lot.
Wait so..... THAT'S how they make hot dogs??? :/
(No, not really, but meh.)
