Why does psychic emanator use power?

Naked brutality tribal edition. Brought one of these from a trader and I didn't research electricity yet. (Important to the story) Busted my a**, sent both colonists i had, leaving my base empty for a few days,

main caravan guy got gut worms and kept getting immobilized. I had to throw away a bunch of stuff I traded cause he became immobile even with another person.

Come home, ready to use this baby cause my only 2 colonists are extreme break risk

It needs power. REALLY?!

You aren't ticked it uses power, you're ticked you went for something you don't know about. Why are you playing NB:T if you don't enjoy this kind of suffering?

Also emanator is only 5 buff so it wouldn't save you from extremes.

I've used it before just forgot it had a power buff when I used it in a previous colony

Also isn't the buff 15

Nope, definitely just a +5 buff.
(Got one as a quest reward and it's a nice little thing to put near my prison cells and hospital rooms, but wouldn't spend too much money on it.)

Does psychic sensitivity impact the buff? If OP thinks it was a +15, they might have had a hypersensitive colonist.

Just checked, it does. I have a psychically dull pawn and he only gets a +3 buff.

Quick little follow-up, as I did a little test with a second one: the effects do not stack.
