Carpet or smoothed stone?
Hi, I ran into a problem with my mountain base.
I dont know wheather to use carpet or smoothed stone.
Carpet has the same beauty value as smoothed stone and is far faster to build, but flammable. Where as smoothed stone doesn't burn, require any resources, but takes much more time to make and gives less wealth to a room.

Which one is overall the best?
No flammability or more wealth and less effort?

Thanks in advance everybody :steamhappy:.

There are also dirt effects that take up multiple tiles, so like if you have a tile of sand under a wall the sandy dirt effect can spread out from under that wall to the surrounding tiles and make them look dirty because the wall doesn't always suppress it (especially with like embrasures).

Otherwise there is no mechanic where actual rubble/dirt should be uncleanable on smooth stone floors.

Ok, the mod sounds promising.

Thanks to you and all others so far for the enormous help you provided me :steamhappy:.

Carpet is better. There's no reason the inside of your mountain base bedrooms should ever be on fire, unless you make it a habit to recruit pyros.

How often do you have wires in your base not covered by walls?

Ya, and a mountain base probably wont have batteries either since wind and solar aren't an option. The event still triggers, but does essentially no damage to the wall above the wire without any stored power.

Whenever I have to cross a hallway to power the other side of the corridor...

My hallways tend to be thin, 1 or 2 tiles wide, and I run the wire across the stone doorways when I do have to cross over. That being said, my hallways never have anything in them to get burnt up, but they are small enough that a molotov toss or two is enough to make the heat rise.

My carpeted areas are usually bedrooms and the recreation/dining room. Sometimes my workshops get carpets but that's a luxury most of the time. My workbenches tend to be made out of wood where possible and also tend to be small in comparison to other sections of my base. The rooms I never carpet are my hospital/research room, my farm room and my miscellaneous storage room.
