Best way to preserve a corpse...

Long story short, one of my colonists lost their their head (literally), I built walls around where they died and currently have their body frozen (via 2 ac units) so I could revive them once i found a resurrector mech serum, however; I now have a "colonist left unburied" debuff. Is there any better way to preserve a body w/o getting the dubuff (i do have cryosleep caskets, but it wont let me put dead bodies in them)

Sarcophagi is the way to go. If you build a few inside of a room you can get access to a little known recreation type where a living colonist visits the grave of a dead colonist. And unlike some random hole in the ground, you can obtain a mood buff similar to the one where your colonist gets an "Impressive dining room/rec room" bonus.

You can also preserve a corpse through the use of art. Your artist can have a small chance of devoting an art piece to the dead colonist preserving their memory for all time (or until you sell it to a trader for 1200 silver).

Yeah, but even Mech Rez serum doesn't work on an art piece, which is what the OP is looking for.

I don't use the rez serum (prefer to sell it and carve up the unfortunate dead), but will it recover someone who has lost their head?
